Dinosaur Coast – Cretaceous
Digital paleoenvironmental reconstruction, Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibition
Scientific curator: Dr. Scott Hocknull
Created as part of the exhibition Dinosaurs Unearthed, 2023
Large-scale reconstruction of a Cretaceous Queensland coastline along the margins of the Eromanga Sea. On the beach, a Muttaburrasaurus rests beneath a conifer forest while the pterosaur Mythunga soars overhead. Below the waterline, a cardabiodon shark hunts giant squid gathering in the shallows to breed — a composition scaled to bring visitors face to face with the ancient marine fauna of inland Australia.
